Ladder stitch is one of the most basic beadweaving stitches; it provides a foundation for other stitches, and is used in many projects to provide stability and strength, especially in large or heavy pieces. It's a good stitch to have in your repertoire; you never know when it will come in handy.
Thread a beading needle with a comfortable length of thread, and string (2) 11° seed beads.
Go back through the first bead, then the second bead, positioning the beads so that they are side by side. (The thread from the previous step is shown in grey.)
String another 11° seed bead. Go back through the last bead strung, and then go through the bead added in this step. Pull the beads together tightly, so that they sit side by side. (The thread from the previous step is not shown.)
String another 11° seed bead. Go back through the bead added in Step 3, and then go through the bead added in this step. (The thread from the previous step is not shown.) Continue adding beads until your ladder has the desired number of beads.
